About Debra Alexander

Songwriter, musician, and educator Debra Alexander founded Word Maven Music to promote her song catalogue, teach songwriting and musicianship, and release original recordings.

Word Maven Music publishing was registered with ASCAP in 1996. Debra’s songs have won awards in five international songwriting competitions, appeared on three CDs, and enjoyed radio airplay.

Debra started Personal Music Trainer and Songwriting Coach in 2009. She combines ten years as a Learning Skills Specialist/ teacher/tutor with experience as an athlete/personal trainer to help songwriters and musicians set appropriate goals, tap into their learning styles, and accelerate progress.

Debra has lived in Nashville, New York, Austin, New England, and Toronto, and been a featured singer-songwriter in prestigious songwriting events and venues, including NXNE, Tin Pan North, Club Passim, and The Bluebird, Cactus, and Free Times Cafés.
